BAIKAL

Choir school for boys and youth of Palace of children’s and youth’s creation is founded in 1991 in Irkutsk. Actually more that 120 young people of Irkutsk old are learning to choral singing. Our choristers were applauded by the audience in many cities of Russia and abroad.

Baikal – Chorus takes part in different (various) contests and festivals where our choristers improve their skill and exchange their experience with other groups.

One of the latest achievements of the creative studio are as follows: Silver diploma from the I world Championship of choral singing among the youth in the city of Graz (Austria, 2011), Grand Prix of the III International Festival of Children and Youth Creativity "Soaring Phoenix» Beijing (China 2013), Laureate diploma (I place) from the regional stage of the All-Russian choral competition "Sing children of Russia" (2016). "Baikal-choir" is an active participant of XVI and XVIII International Festival "Spring Choir" in Krasnoyarsk. One of the brightest events in the choir life was a performance of “Poem of fire” composed by A. Skryabin. It was a big concert and the Baikal Choir as a part of massed choir was singing with Denis Matsuev and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Valery Gergiev at the XIII Easter Festival in April 2014.
In August 2009, the "Baikal Choir" became the laureate of the VII International Competition of Choral Art "Singing World" in St. Petersburg and got the special prize of the jury in the nomination "For the best interpretation of sacred music".
In 1996, for the first time the Choir group was awarded the title "Master", which has been confirmed three times in 2001, 2006 and 2014. December 26, 2015 "Baikal-Choir" performed great concert at the opening of the VII Baikal Christmas Festival, which took place on the stage of the Buryat Philharmonic in Ulan-Ude.
